Paul's radio career began in commercial radio in Nottingham, graduating to run the oldies network Gold and manage the stations formerly operated by Saga, before ten years at the BBC where his weekly nostalgia programme delivered record audiences.

Paul's knowledge of music is renowned, with his uncanny recall of tracks from across the decades. In conjunction with each of the presenters on their programmes, he is the brains and love behind the co-ordination of all the music you hear on Boom.
